CUPE library workers are not collecting library fees or fines on overdue materials, as part of their strike for a fair agreement. As well, library patrons will not be prevented from borrowing because of fines or fees.
The more than 180 CUPE members at the library have been seeking a fair agreement for nearly 29 months.
Library workers walked off the job yesterday and held a rally and study session. Today, they returned to work and implemented a ban on the collection of fines and fees.
Library board refuses to bargain fair agreement
The library board cancelled conciliation talks last month and is refusing to negotiate a fair agreement.
Hold the library board accountable
Call or email the board and tell them to negotiate a fair settlement.
